Artificial leather materials used to make outdoor shoes mainly include polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyurethane (PU). These materials have good durability and waterproof performance, and are commonly used to replace natural leather for outdoor shoes.
The production process of artificial leather usually includes the following steps:
Substrate selection: Artificial leather is usually based on textile or non-woven fabrics, which can be synthetic fibre materials such as polyester and nylon.
Coating process: the base cloth is coated with a synthetic resin, such as PVC or PU. the purpose of the coating is to increase the strength and waterproof performance of the material. The coating process can be divided into two types: wet coating and dry coating, where dry coating is more environmentally friendly as it reduces the use of solvents.
Foaming and laminating: some types of artificial leather, such as polyethylene artificial leather, are enhanced in structure and appearance by foaming or laminating processes.
Surface processing: according to the needs, the surface of artificial leather can be printed, embossed and other treatments, so that it has the appearance and texture similar to real leather
 surface processing.
This process is complex but can produce artificial leather with good performance, widely used in the manufacture of outdoor shoes
